Ashlee is an animal lover.
She is constantly begging us to buy her a puppy, a kitty cat, a hamster or most recently... a bunny.
It was during one of her recent animal begging episodes that John came up with a brilliant idea... "Ashlee, how about you make a hummingbird feeder and all the hummingbirds will come to drink from your feeder and you can take pictures and name each one and it will be like you have a bunch of little bird pets!".
She thought about it for a minute, squinted her eyes, then nodded and said very seriously, "I like that idea".
So she jumped on the computer and found out how to make hummingbird nectar... I know, who even knew there was such a thing as hummingbird nectar.
Ashlee carefully filled her feeder with her homemade nectar...
Jad was a good sport. He sat holding the feeder for about 15 minutes while Ash filled...
She found the perfect tree and the perfect branch...
She even tested it to make sure it was suitable for her little hummingbird friends...
Still waiting for those hummingbirds to visit...

Ra, this is the sweetest thing I've ever seen! GREAT IDEA! Tell Ashlee that Alan and Linda (Jer's parents) have one of these hanging from their house so they can watch the hummingbirds through the window and they get tons of hummingbirds! Sometimes they fight, though, so watch out. And, it does take a little while for the birds to come after they've refilled the feeder. Can't wait to hear about her new pets/friends :-)
